The Experience

We need support in the everyday maintenance of the House like house-sitting, cleaning-up the rooms, changing the sheets. On weekends it's more busy as hikers arrive and tourist groups arrive, and we need support more in the kitchen background, like cooking pancakes, preparing vegetables, do the washing up. We always work in team so our volunteer can choose the daily task that fits better for him / her.

Majestic. The way I changed for just 1 month staying there is incredible to describe. I needed that. For everyone looking for a place to face your fears, and connect deeply with nature and themselves - this is for you. Never the work was unmanageable and I had plenty of time to explore the place and the capital. Victor ( the host) is straightforward and supportive. Also, as a volunteer - I always had access to food and had private, cozy room. Happy I met new volunteers at the end of my stay. Thanks to everyone. Thanks for the opportunity❤️

Victor is a wonderful host and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has what they need to be happy. Although I got very sick from the summer travel season in Hungary, the lodge at the top of the hill was a beautiful and peaceful escape from the fast paced world I am all to familiar with. I would like to note though, this is not a typical hostel (with guests coming and going from all over the world). This is mostly a local Hungarian destination with a camps and weekend guests. I would certainly recommend this work exchange if this all sounds good to you though.

Well, to be my first volunteering I may say it was a really good experience. The house is over a hill rounded by a beautiful type of forest and green plants and there are many hikes to do just giving one step out of the house so if you like hiking this could be your place, it is comfortable with all the basic facilities also the food are traditional plates of Hungary. The task consists of making pancakes, peeling vegetables, cook some dishes, cleaning and housekeeping. The people are very kind, Viktor and Eszter are very friendly and helpful as well as Latsko and the guys during the weekend!

This month was very beautiful and productive for me! It was a unique experience. The place is up in the hill and open for people who go for hiking. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and always open to get to know me and make me feel comfortable. Victor is very kind and adjusts the schedule in your needs. Sandor is also a very helpful person that cares a lot! The tasks include cleaning, helping in the kitchen with the pancakes and the vegetables. Week days are slow but weekends have a lot of work. This place is so calming and I would definitely recommend it for someone who loves nature!
