The Experience

We are looking for volunteers to join our team here at our hostel. Set in the heart of beautiful rural Perthshire, this very special hostel makes a terrific stop for any trip into the Highlands. All the comforts of a hotel with the ambiance, personality and facilities of a hostel. We have a variety of dorms, doubles and en suite twins. The wonderful sunny lounge overlooks the picturesque main street.

An incredible volunteering experience! Ruthie and Derick were very sweet and attentive, we felt very comfortable, we made many friends and the work was also very relaxed. We had many moments of interaction and on one of them we had the opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis on a bonfire night at the nearby lake. the hostel is a small, charming and very beautiful town, with stunning scenery and great hiking trails! I hope to be able to return one day, everything was so special!

I spent nearly a month volunteering at this magical place, and it was an incredible experience. Ruthie and Derek, the volunteers, were a pillar of support throughout this wonderful adventure. I improved my English and learned so much about different cultures from the guests and fellow volunteers I met during my stay. I highly recommend this place; I now consider it a second home, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

THE BEST VOLUNTEER EVER! :) The team was amazing, made friends for life there. The tasks were easy and well-explained. There is a big lounge to socialize with other volunteers, guests, or work. Ruthie is an amazing host, she is always happy, fun, and excited. I'll miss her daily smile. The city is like a fairytale, very beautiful and there is lots of nature to enjoy. I will miss this experience, and I hope to come back to visit soon.

What a wonderful experience!! Ruthie and Derek are amazing!! Their energy and partnership with everyone make this place even much more especial. The hostel and the hostel have a bigger space in my heart because of them! The job is very well organized, they care about how the volunteers feel doing it, they care about guests, and the vibe that it all brings to the experience is amazing. You can apply to this opportunity with your eyes closed! You will feel like home, make friends, improve your English and see how lovely the hostel is! This was my first time volunteering and visiting Scotland and I couldn't have chosen a better place for that experience! Ruthie and Derek are so incredibly kind and fun, making sure you feel welcome and at home. The work itself is pretty chill and there's a lot of free time in the day once you're finished. The Hostel is super cozy, and although is a very small town, there's plenty to explore as well as time to visit other beautiful towns/cities! I met a lot of great people and it feels really bittersweet leaving :') Thank you for everything, Ruthie and Derek, I'll definitely be back!! :)
