The Experience

I have so much gratitude to Carlos, ekharte & all of the Ashram family. My experience was changed slightly when I was hit by a car in the 2nd week. The care, the patience, the flexibility. Everything about my time there during what was quite an emotional, transformative experience was everything & more I could have asked for. In regards to the actual volunteering (although in the end I didn't get to do that much) everything was great, the work, the meals, the space. Thank you Ashram 🙏🙏

The Ashram is a very tranquil place to reconnect with yourself and nature. The work was simple, although at times quite hard working in the heat, and the working hours were as advertised. Nico, Ekajati and Carlos were all friendly and welcoming and it was lovely spending time with the kittens and Kala, the dog :) the yoga classes were great and I had lots of time to myself after finishing the work in the morning.

The experience was amazing, I didn't feel it like volunteering, although I worked reaaally hard, but with the earth, it feels different, it gives you time to connect with yourself and the element 🌏. Is basically a retreat experience, where you have lots of spaces in the middle of the nature to meditate and reconnect with yourself . easy to arrive, very safe place, not far from chichen itza and valladolid.

The Ashram is a nice place to get in touch with nature and yourself. The tasks were diversified - gardening, handymen tasks, also cleaning to take care of the place, where we were living. There is a lot of time after work and weekends for visiting great places, fortunately but also unfortunately the Ashram is really offgrid, so there is no supermarket next to. Ekajati cooked well and healthy after work, breakfast and dinner and weekends cooking is by yourself. Unfortunately our spanish isnt good yet, but Carlos and Ekajati discussed important things also in english. Thanks for the experience!

The three week experience was good. Ekajati, who took care of us, is a friendly person who shared the tasks and cooked very well after work. Mainly I installed paths in the jungle, which was quite a hard job because of the high temperatures. The place is lovely, but for completeness it's also very outside of Valladolid and villages. Nethertheless I would come back so thanks for the time.
