The Experience
We have a 20-acre property bordering US Forest Service land with 4 horses, 2 Aussie dogs, 40 chickens & 3 cats. The horses can be ridden year-round. We love seeing experienced horse people enjoy our horses. Chores include feeding/watering animals, gardening, weeding, daily household cleaning & chores, daily cooking, organizing, grocery shopping, horse & dog poop, cat boxes, cleaning chicken coop, irrigation, moving hay bales & watering plants.

It is hard to put this experience into words as it was so incredible! the farm is stunning with the friendliest horses, dogs, and cats. Jim and Donna are more than just welcoming, they made it feel like home and are super generous. The scenery around the farm is beyond anything I've seen before - the mountains in particular will always stay with me. I had the best 3 months here and couldn't recommend it enough to anyone else who enjoys nature, immersing themselves into the culture, and of course the farm riding and being with animals! I will cherish this time forever, thank you Jim and Donna ❤️

Donna and Jim are awesome ! I had the best time at their amazing the farm. Montana is heaven on earth and will be forever in my heart. I learned so much about the farm life, gardening, general maintenance, animals.. speaking of animals, Jim and Donna have the best animals, the nicest horses you will ever meet. I met plenty of locals, everyone is so nice and friendly, I miss it already. All in all, leaving was really hard, I hope to come back one day :D Thank you Donna and Jim !

My time at the farm feels surreal. Jim and Donna open their home to volunteers with such kindness. If you are an animal lover the farm is definitely the place for you. The views from the farm trails never get old ! My time here was so special and I will forever be thankful to Donna. Not to mention the relationships you develop with the other volunteers 🤍

I can easily say that I had the most amazing months of my life! The amount of opportunities, things and places I got to experience and things I got to learn because of Jim and Donna is incredible. They're both so kind openhearted and easy to get along with that nothing really felt like work! The horses and doggies are the most loving and honest creatures and I got a lot of lovely rides on all of the horses! I am so incredibly thankful for this experience and I will look back at it with so much love and memories that will last me a lifetime. It really felt like home away from home❤️
